Founding Family Enrollment Now Open

Freedom Friends
Southern Maine Homeschool Community

A parent present weekly homeschool community where children build lasting friendships, practice social emotional skills, and grow inside a consistent mixed age rhythm families can count on.

Founding rates are available for the first 12 families or until July 15th, whichever comes first.

This is the homeschool community families keep asking for again.

Freedom Friends is for Southern Maine homeschool families who want more than random meetups, rushed activities, and one time social events.

This is a consistent Thursday rhythm where children can see the same familiar faces, build real friendships over time, practice communication, grow in confidence, and experience learning through community.

Parents stay present, friendships form naturally, and the group is guided with intention by Maria Galyean, founder of The Homeschool Admin.

Social emotional learning through real friendship

It may look like children playing, creating, eating, exploring, and talking together. Underneath that, they are practicing the skills homeschool families deeply care about.

Communication

Children practice asking for what they need, listening to others, expressing ideas, navigating group play, and joining conversations.

Teamwork

Activities are designed to help children collaborate, take turns, solve problems, share materials, and contribute to a group rhythm.

Confidence

Shy children are given time to warm up, observe, participate at their own pace, and feel secure in a familiar community.

Leadership

Older children naturally model, mentor, help younger children, and practice the responsibility that comes from mixed age community.

A full family membership, not just a weekly class

Every enrolled family receives support before the year begins, access to the parent community right away, and a weekly rhythm that supports both the children and the parents.

Thursdays 10AM to 1PM

Weekly parent present gatherings in the Saco, Scarborough, Cumberland, and surrounding coastal Southern Maine area.

Family Planning Session

Before the year begins, each family has a personalized homeschool rhythm and planning conversation with Maria.

Telegram Parent Community

Once your family secures enrollment, you receive access to the parent Telegram group for connection, updates, and support.

Summer Gatherings

Enrolled families will be invited to complimentary summer connection opportunities as the group begins forming before September.

Mixed Age Learning

Preschoolers, younger homeschoolers, and older children gather family style so children can learn from one another naturally.

Portfolio Support Layer

Families receive gentle guidance for noticing and documenting growth, learning, friendship skills, and meaningful moments throughout the year.

Secure your family’s spot before the rate changes

For families looking for homeschool community in Southern Maine

Is Freedom Friends a homeschool co-op?

Freedom Friends is a parent present homeschool community led by The Homeschool Admin. It has the community feel families often want from a co-op, with more intentional facilitation, SEL guidance, and homeschool parent support built in.

Where will gatherings happen?

Gatherings are planned for the Saco, Scarborough, Cumberland, and surrounding coastal Southern Maine area. The goal is to keep the rhythm predictable and mapped out clearly for enrolled families.

What ages can join?

The community is mixed age by design. Preschoolers, younger homeschoolers, and older children can gather in a family style environment. Younger children learn through observation and gentle participation. Older children practice leadership, communication, and care for the group.

Is this a drop off program?

No. This is a parent present homeschool community. Parents stay and remain responsible for their children while Maria guides the rhythm, activities, and social emotional learning environment.

Can shy children join?

Yes. This is one of the reasons Freedom Friends exists. The weekly rhythm gives shy children repeated exposure to the same community, which often helps them warm up, build trust, and make friends at a pace that feels safe.

Do preschool families belong here?

Yes. Preschool families receive the same family planning session, Telegram group access, and community support. For younger children, the focus is a gentle beginning, play based learning, confidence, rhythm, and early familiarity with the homeschool lifestyle.

Does this replace my homeschool curriculum?

No. Freedom Friends supports your homeschool through friendship, SEL, community, shared experiences, and parent guidance. Your family still chooses your core curriculum and home instruction plan.

What happens after I apply?

Maria reviews your application and sends a deposit invoice if your family is a fit for the current roster. Once your deposit is paid, your family receives Telegram access and summer connection opportunities.

Can I ask questions before committing?

Yes. The application is the best place to share questions. Maria can answer them before sending your deposit invoice.

Secure your family’s place inside a community your children can actually grow inside.

Founding enrollment is open for the first 12 families or until July 15th, whichever comes first. Apply now, share your questions, and Maria will follow up with the next step.
